CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi strongly condemned the explosions that targeted a bus carrying Tunisian Presidential guards Tuesday evening, killing 12 guards and injuring 20 others, stated the Egyptian Presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef.

“The Presidency offers its sincerest condolences to the leadership, government and people of Tunisia for the victims of this abhorrent attack, and offers its sympathies to their families,” he added.

Sisi affirmed Egypt’s solidarity with Tunisia in its combat against “the heinous hand of terrorism which indiscriminately claims innocent lives in all parts of the world,” Youssef continued.

Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi declared a state of emergency nationwide for a month, adding that curfew was imposed in Greater Tunis from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., the Tunisian News Agency added.
