CAIRO: A shipment of radioactive isotopes to be used in cancer treatment arrived from France at Cairo International Airport under tight security, Youm7 reported Friday.
The consignment, enveloped in 40 parcels weighing 520 kilograms, was imported by a medicine company that works in the field of curing tumors.
The shipment was examined by a delegate from the International Atomic Energy Agency to make sure they met radiation limits.
The airport has previously received similar shipments for the same medical purposes.

In January, the airport received 11 parcels including radioactive isotopes weighing 120 kg coming from the Netherlands, and another shipment weighing 49 kg from Iran.
