False bomb threat reported on board Turkish plane bound for Cairo

CAIRO: A false bomb threat Friday morning has delayed the arrival of a Turkish plane coming from Istanbul to Cairo, Youm7 reported.

“After boarding the plane in Istanbul, all the passengers of Turkish Airlines flight number 693 were instructed to leave the plane to another one because of a reported bomb on board,” sources at Cairo airport told Youm7 citing officials at the Turkish Airlines office at Cairo International Airport.

The new plane departed Istanbul three hours later than scheduled, said the source.

Turkish authorities have carefully inspected the original plane and luggage of the passengers, however, no bomb was found on board, the sources added.
