CAIRO: The prosecution decided Sunday to admit a handicapped girl into an orphanage until a woman who claims she is her mother undergoes a DNA test, Youm7 reported.

On Thursday, Mervat S., 42, ran into a handicapped girl selling tissues in Cairo Metro and burst into tears, saying she was her daughter whom she had lost four years ago.

However, a neighbor of Mervat went to Qasr el-Nil prosecution office and told them the child is not Mervat’s; hence the prosecution’s decision.

The child was lost while in her father’s company in a visit to her grandfather four years earlier, Mervat S. told the police on Thursday.
