CAIRO: Egypt is seeking $70 billion from Paris-held Climate Change conference donors to finance environmental projects in period of time between 2020 and 2023, Egyptian Minister Khaled Fahmy told Youm7 Sunday.

Egypt presides the Environmental Ministerial council of African countries at the Paris conference and will discuss projectsto mitigate climate change over the 12-day negotiations.

Government aims to create projects of on renewable resources and energy rationalization, besides agriculture projects amid increasing the global warming.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi headed for Paris Sunday to participate in the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC,) according to a presidential statement.

Over 135 heads of state and government will be taking part in the event which will take place from Nov. 30 to December 11. It aims to push for the enacting of global policies to limit the global temperature increase to 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrialization era levels.
