CAIRO: The training of 30,000 Egyptian English instructors at the British Council is being considered by the Education Ministry, Youm7 reported Sunday.
During a meeting with officials from the British Council in Cairo, head of the Public Education sector at the ministry said that the course would aim at developing linguistic and training skills of teachers.
The Education Ministry and the British Council would collaborate to select the English instructors, and every trainee would be responsible for training a number of other English teachers.
Sahar Khamis, head of the Education Programs department at the British Council, said that the teachers will undergo the Aptis test to be evaluated.
A total of 360 English supervisors selected by the Education Ministry were trained at the British Council from Aug. 2 to Sept. 17. They are expected to train other English teachers.
