CAIRO: Polish holiday organizers have agreed with Air Cairo to arrange two flights fortnightly to Sharm el-Sheikh starting from February 2016, head of the Tourism Promotion Authority Samy Mahmoud told Youm7.
A campaign to promote tourism in Egypt will begin in Poland in the coming period, Mahmoud said, adding that a Polish media delegation will visit Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh, and Marsa Alam to learn about the precautious measures the Egypt has taken after a Russian plane crashed in Sinai Oct. 31.
In 2014, Polish tourists ranked seventh in foreign tourism influx into Egypt with 302,815 Poles, according to Youm7.
Egypt Air started direct charter flights from Abu Dhabi to Sharm el-Sheikh Monday on a Boeing B737-80 with 100 passengers on board, according to a statement by head of the company Sherif Fathy.
Egypt Air also plans to launch direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Egypt’s Luxor and Aswan during the mid-year vacation. The trip will include diverse programs of sightseeing.
Further, Egypt Air has increased weekly flights from Cairo to Abu Dhabi from 11 to 18 as the passenger turnout is higher during the New Year and mid-year vacation.
Direct flights from Kuwait to Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh will also be increased to boost tourism in the Red Sea resort, Kuwaiti Information Minister Salman al-Sabah announced Nov. 23 in Cairo.
