CAIRO: The volume of German-developed projects in Egypt hit 3.1 billion Euros, announced Germany’s ambassador to Cairo Julius Georg Luy in media remarks Tuesday.

The projects focused on three areas, namely energy, water and employment, plus administrative reform and urban development, he added.

“Egypt is facing many political, economic and social challenges over the past years, beside facing domestic threats including terrorism and daily attacks against police, soldiers and civilians, ” he was quoted as saying by Egyptian state-owned news agency MENA.

He noted that although the past few years saw unrest, his country continued its successful cooperation in fields of economy, trade and investment.
