10-years sentence against 120 alleged MB supporters commuted to 2ys

CAIRO: The Cairo Kafr el Sheikh Criminal Court has commuted 10-year prison sentence against 120 defendants, allegedly belong to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood (MB), to two years in jail over charges of inciting violence outside a police station following June 30 incidents, Youm7 reported.

Two others convicts received 5-year sentences; two others were given one-year imprisonment.

The convicts faced charges of inciting violence and clashes between local residents of Kafr el Sheikh and security forces outside the Kafr el sheikh police station following June 30 incidents in which the protesters called for the end of former President Mohamed Morsi’ ruling.

In early 2015, the convicts were sentenced to 10 years in jail; and their appeals against 10-year imprisonment rulings were accepted in June.
