CAIRO: Egypt’s Court of Cassation upheld Saturday death sentences against five convicts in the case known as “October 6 Cell,” Youm7 reported.

The court rejected an appeal filed by the defendants against their verdicts, which were issued on Sep.20; death sentence for five men and life sentence for two others.

The accused were convicted of multiple of charges including: storming the Virgin Mary Coptic Church in the 6 of October City in 2014, murdering a police sergeant, attempted murder of another officer and weapons unlicensed possession.
