Egypt participates in Turkmenistan’s 20th anniversary of neutrality

CAIRO: Deputy Foreign Minister Hamdi Loza participated in an international conference to mark the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s acquisition of the status of permanent neutrality, the Foreign Ministry announced in a statement Tuesday.

The conference, which was held at the Turkmenistan capital of Ashgabat Dec., 12-13, witnessed an extensive international participation, said the statement.

“Egypt was keen, since the independence of the Republic of Turkmenistan in 1991, to strengthen the cooperation and friendship ties with it, as Egypt also offered a number of training courses and technical support programs to Turkmen trainees through the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with the Commonwealth countries,” according to the statement.
