CAIRO: The trip of a passenger from an unspecified Gulf state was canceled at Cairo Airport Tuesday for being drunk, Youm7 reported.

The health department at the airport advised the authorities to cancel the passenger’s trip per safety and security procedures, a security source at the airport told Youm7.

The pilot of the plane requested security personnel to check a “troublemaking passenger.” The source did not reveal the nationality of the man.

Security personnel noticed that the passenger was “delirious and unintelligible;” a doctor from the health department affirmed the passenger was too drunk to travel.

A Saudi national was banned from travelling from Cairo to his country in September for consuming too much alcohol, rendering him unable to walk, according to Youm7.
