CAIRO: Egypt is expecting cool temperatures to loom over most of its governorates until Dec.24, warned Egypt’s Meteorological Authority Tuesday.
Temperature will be down between two to three degrees below the normal level during this period. Cairo and North coastal cities will witness rains, and a thick fog will cover roads near water surfaces, EMA head Ahmed Abdel Aal told Youm7.
The weather will be generally “cold” during the day and “very cold” at night, and in some parts like: Central Sinai and Upper Egypt will amount to “freeze.”
Day temperatures will record between 22 C and 16 C. Cairo records Wednesday 18 C during the day and 12 C at night.
Abdel Aal called on authorities in governorates witnessing lower temperatures and showers to take necessary measures to avoid any damages due to the bad weather, especially in Mediterranean cities of Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh, as well as North and South Sinai.
EMA also provided a phone number available 24/7 to receive any inquiries about the weather: 02/26849859.
