Kuwait Airways to resume flights to Sharm el Sheikh
Kuwait airline

CAIRO: Following a nearly two-month break, Kuwait Airways will resume flights to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh Dec. 22, Executive Vice President of Commercial Affairs Philip Sanders told Youm7.

The airline halted the flight route following an Oct. 31 crash in the Sinai of a Russian jet that killed all 224 passengers and crew onboard.

A number of airlines suspended flights to Sinai in particular and Egypt in general following the crash; the Islamic State group claimed responsibility the day of the crash, boasting on social media that it had downed the plane.

Despite both the United Kingdom and Russia announcing that they believe a bomb planted in the cabin was responsible for the crash, Cairo announced Monday that its experts had not yet found evidence of terrorism.
