CAIRO: Former speaker of Egypt’s 2012 People’s Assembly Saad al-Katatni will return to prison in 24 hours after he received intensive care at Manial Hospital, medical sources told Youm7 Friday.

The chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party has a fatty liver and prostate enlargement, the sources said. He was transferred to the hospital outside of prison Thursday to be tested and treated.

Pictures of Katatni in a December hearing of one of his trials went viral on social media, after some activists and Brotherhood supporters compared them with older pictures.

The Brotherhood supporters noted that Katatni seems to have lost weight and generally looks unhealthy.

Katatni, jailed since the July 2013 ouster of President Mohamed Morsi, was sentenced to death in June over a 2011 mass jailbreak; he stands other trials.
