Canadian defense minister in Cairo for counter-terrorism talks

CAIRO: Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Singh Sajjan arrived in Cairo International Airport Friday evening, Youm7 reported.

Sajjan, who heads a Canadian military delegation, is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi to discuss counter-terrorism issues.

During the two-day visit, Sajjan is also scheduled to meet with his Egyptian counterpart Sedki Sobhi, top military officials,  as well as Russia’s ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kerbachenko to discuss ways to tackle terrorism threats in the Middle East.

The Canadian military delegation arrived in Cairo from London where they met with his British counterpart Michael Fallon where they discussed ways to support the international coalition against the Islamic State (IS) group.
