CAIRO: A total of 36 farm workers, mostly children, were injured Sunday after their vehicle rolled over on a road in Sharqiah governorate, north of Egypt, according to Youm7.
The injured children are 15 -16 years old. They all work in el-Salehya el-Gadida farms in the Delta governorate.
Thousands of Egyptians are killed every year in road accidents, with the latest report documenting the death of more than 6,200 people in 14,400 road accidents in 2014. Although transport experts blame the crashes on the “lack of safety measures” of Egyptian roads, official reports signal “human error” as a major factor.
