Sisi promises price relief in holiday statement

CAIRO: In an address at Al-Azhar on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, President Sisi stated that he had met with various business leaders and encouraged them to lower prices to improve the quality of Egyptian’s lives.

The President added that true followers of Islam do not kill people, as do groups that “tarnished the religion,” by creating false interpretations used to justify murder.

He said that he would continue to take cake of the 90-million strong nation, in the event attended by  Prime Minister Sharif Ismail Prime Minister, Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Holy Father Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark, Mufti of the Republic Dr. Shawki Allam and Dr. Mohammed Mokhtar Gomaa, Minister of Awqaf and head of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
