CAIRO Dec 24: Egypt’s central bank and banking sector provided $8.3 billion for imports and investors between Oct. 29 and Dec. 12, Central Bank Governor Tarek Amer told reporters on Thursday.

Amer declined to comment on source of the dollar injection. He said the central bank had temporarily excluded 18 banks from dollar auctions but did not provide a reason.
