CAIRO: A tourist ship coming from Germany arrived in Port Tawfik in Suez Friday with 150 tourists on board in the first trip of its kind in three years, Youm7 reported.
Suez Governor Al-Arabi al-Serwi, head of the Red Sea Ports Authority Hesham Abu Sinna and other officials received the tourists, who are German and Greek, according to Youm7.
The group of tourists will go to Suez Port, and then Cairo and Giza in a one-day tour then return to Port Tawfik to resume the trip in the Mediterranean.
Port Tawfik did not receive passenger ships for three years for security reasons. Also, the influx of tourists into Egypt has sharply declined since the 2011 upheaval, and was further damaged after a Russian plane crashed over Sinai Oct. 31.
