CAIRO: Three people were killed and 11 others were injured after a microbus rolled over on the eastern highway of Mallawi, Minya, Youm7 reported.

A man and a woman, both 45, were killed, as well as an unidentified person. Those injured are aged three to 65. Microbuses take up to 15 passengers, including the driver.

Cairo Traffic authorities have spotted 1,390 car accidents during 2015, in which 592 people were killed, and 1,222 were wounded, a security source told Youm7 Friday.

The traffic crashes have been captured by surveillance cameras.

A total of 6,916 car accidents took place during the first half of 2015, with an increase of 3.5 percent compared to 6,685 in the same period last year, according to a recent bulletin by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS.)

Although transport experts blame the crashes on the “lack of safety measures” at Egyptian roads, official reports signal “human error” as a major factor.
