CAIRO: Water will be cut off for 21 hours Sunday in several areas in New Cairo, announced Drinking Water and Sanitation Company Saturday.
The affected areas will include: Tagammu el-Khames, some parts of Tagammu el-Thaleth and Rihab City.
The water cut is due to ongoing repairing works at the main water pipelines. The cut will be effective from 10 a.m. on Sunday and will last until 7 a.m. on Monday.
The company has urged bakeries and hospitals to store their needs of water during the cut off period, adding that it will make available trucks of drinking water in the affected areas. It has announced a hotline 125 to receive public inquiries.
On Friday, a similar outage took place in the Sariaat el Maadi, New Maadi, and Dar el Salaam, due to necessary valve change.
