Cairo Airport foils attempts to smuggle spy cameras

CAIRO: Authorities of Cairo Airport customs foiled Saturday attempts to smuggle concealable cameras hidden inside personal parcels coming from different countries, Youm7 reported

In a package coming from the United Arab Emirates, authorities confiscated 10 sunglasses supported with cameras found inside, and took legal procedures against its owner.

In another incident, customs seized eight watches supported with high quality cameras coming from Singapore, China and the Netherlands.

Over the past months, customs officials at airports have repeatedly stopped several attempts to smuggle drugs, money and artifacts.

In Dec.24, two passengers, an Egyptian and a Jordanian, were arrested at the Cairo Airport over attempting to smuggle $136,000.

In Dec.21, a passenger was arrested at the airport for trying to smuggle a total of 620 grams of hashish inside his shoes.
