“Egypt Sparkles” celebration to be held at Giza Pyramids on New Year’s Eve

CAIRO: The Tourism Ministry announced it will organize a cultural festival on the New Year eve at the foot of Giza Pyramids.

“Egypt Sparkles,” will take place at the open area facing the Sphinx and the Temple of Pharaoh Khafre. It will be held under the auspices of the Egyptian ministries of tourism and culture.

The show will feature the latest technology in lighting techniques, visual effects and fireworks, Hazem Hamada, CEO of the United Group Company that sponsors the celebration was quoted by Al Dostor newspaper Sunday.

The celebration is a bid to promote the country’s tourism sector that has been struggling since the 2011 uprising.
