Workers strike over unpaid bonuses at Egyptalum plant at Nag Hammady

CAIRO: Hundreds of workers at the Egyptalum plant at Nag Hammady commenced a partial strike Sunday over unpaid bonuses, Al Ahram reported.

Protesters are making several demands, among them the immediate payment of overdue bonuses by the end of 2016 and the resignation of Chairman of the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries Zaki Bassiouny, the administrative managerial director and the health management director.

Barakat Aldmrani, an activist labor at the plant “the demands of the workers are legitimate.”

He called on Prime Minister Sherif Ismail to intervene and solve their problems.
