CAIRO: A huge fire broke out Tuesday morning at the International Casting & Modern Industries (ICMI) Company headquarters at Egypt’s Delta governorate of Sharqia, Youm7 reported.
Preliminary investigations revealed the fire was caused by a natural gas tank explosion, source at the factory told Youm7. No casualties have been reported.
Twenty fire trucks were dispatched to the site to extinguish the blaze to prevent a spread to neighboring factories at Sharqia’s 10th Of Ramadan industrial zone, said the source. The damages at the factory remain unknown.
Several fires have erupted across the country during the past few months.
On Aug. 22, a fire broke out in the eight-story building of El-Ataba call center in downtown Cairo leaving no casualties among civilians while a police officer was injured due to smoke inhalation.
