CAIRO: Egypt’s Attorney General ordered the detention of four political activists for 15 days pending investigations for “inciting to overthrow the regime,” Youm7 reported Thursday.

The four activists include co-founder of Al Bedaya Movement, Sherif Diab who was arrested at Cairo’s northern neighborhood of Al Herafyeen.

They face charges of “joining the illegally-formed 25 January Youth Movement, attempting to disrupt the constitution and state institutions and inciting protests.”

The arrest came weeks ahead of the fifth anniversary of the 25 January Revolution that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak in 2011.
