CAIRO: The Health Ministry announced in a statement Saturday that medical tests on three potential corona virus cases in Egypt’s Delta governorate of Dakahlia have all been found negative and Egypt, so far, is “free of the disease,” Al Ahram reported.

One of the suspected cases was hospitalized at Mansoura Chest Hospital while the other two were at Meet Ghamr Central Hospital; all have been released after tests have been found negative, according to the statement.

In May 2014, two women in Mansoura died from respiratory illness and Health Ministry denied they were infected with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS CoV.)

The symptoms of the disease include high temperatures, dyspnea and coughing, Amr Qandil, former head of the Health Ministry’s preventive medicine department told Youm7 earlier.
