Cold weather hits Egypt Friday: EMA

CAIRO: A cold wave is expected to hit Egypt Friday and last for one day, Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced Tuesday.

It is expected that the temperature will decrease by 6 degrees Celsius and the Northern Mediterranean cities will be caught in heavy showers, while Cairo and Delta will see light rains, the statement added.

On Saturday, Egypt saw a very cold weather, particularly in the Delta and northern Upper Egypt, with lower temperature degrees at night. Frost sat in Central Sinai amount; Saint Catherine in South Sinai saw 9C during the day and 1C at night.
