CAIRO: Microsoft investments in Egypt have been discussed during a Tuesday meeting between President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and the CEO of the technology company Satya Nadella.
Along with a delegation of 14 members from Microsoft, Nadella arrived in Cairo from the United Arab Emirates via private jet. The delegation is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and other officials to further cooperation with the Egyptian government.
Microsoft has a number of investments in Egypt, especially in the Smart Village. Earlier in December, it opened a portal to support entrepreneurs in the technology sector in cooperation with the Youth Ministry and the United Nations Development Program.
The portal is titled “Masr Ta3mal,” meaning “Egypt Works.” It offers services to help Egyptians innovate and provides support to startups.
