CAIRO: A Thursday attack at a Giza hotel reportedly took place after a group of 20 protesters threw flares and shot fire toward the hotel, an eyewitness told Youm7.

At the time of the attack, a bus carrying a number of tourists, reportedly Arab Israeli citizens, was standing outside the Barcelo Cairo Pyramids Hotel.

The attack resulted in no casualties. It caused damages to the hotel façade, and smashed some of the bus windows.

The attackers fled the scene immediately. A police hunt has been launched after the perpetrators, whom security bodies announced identifying them, Youm7 quoted a security source.

Surveillance cameras at the site of the attack were ordered to be submitted to investigations authorities.

Earlier, another scenario reported that masked men on motorbike opened fire at the hotel.
