CAIRO: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head to Berlin Monday in a three-day visit to discuss bilateral relations, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid Thursday.

Shoukry and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier will also talk regional and international issues, particularly global counter-terrorism efforts, Egypt’s state-owned newspaper al-Ahram reported.

The countries have strong cooperation, particularly in economic and military fields; President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met Dec. 14, 2015 with German Minister of Economics Gerd Muller who proposed forming a joint committee between both sides to boost economic cooperation in all fields.

Egypt’s news agency MENA reported Dec. 24, 2015 that Egypt two additional submarines Type-209/1400 to Egyptian navy fleet.
