Passenger busted at Luxor Airport for ammunition possession

CAIRO: A passenger was busted by bomb experts at Luxor Airport over possession of ammunition for multi-machine guns, Youm7 reported Sunday.

Nasr. G, an Egyptian living in Upper Egypt’s Qena governorate, was about to board a flight to Qatar when the bomb department suspected him. By inspecting his luggage, forces found amounts of ammunition used for different weapons.

The seizures were confiscated and the man was referred to investigations.

Over the past months, many passengers have been arrested and referred to investigations over smuggling drugs, money and artifacts.

Amina S., a Sudanese woman is currently held in pre-trial detention over an attempt to smuggle 2.5 kg of hashish through the Cairo Airport.
