CAIRO: The parliament endorsed Tuesday the State Council’s decision to appoint Judge Ahmed Saad El Din as the new secretary-general for Egypt’s House of Representatives, Youm7 reported.

On Dec. 5, the State Council’s administrative court selected Saad El Din to take the post upon the recommendation of State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Magdy Al Agaty after resignation of the parliament’s former secretary-general Khaled Al Sadr.

Saad El Din served as a police officer and then joined the State Council after obtaining a master’s degree in law before he was appointed as a consultant for former minister of parliamentary affairs Ibrahim Al Heneidy in 2014.

Saad El Din is a graduate of both the Faculty of Law and the Police Academy.
