CAIRO: Three flights coming from Saudi Arabia landed in Cairo Airport Monday instead of Borg al-Arab Airport in Alexandria due to a mild sandstorm that has hit the country, Youm7 reported.
The Jeddah flights were operated by Egypt Air, Air Cairo and Al-Masria Universal Airlines.
Arrivals and departures at Cairo International Airport and the other Egyptian airports have not been affected by the weather thus far, an official source at the Ministry of Aviation told Youm7.
The sandstorm is expected to last until Wednesday.
On Jan. 12, three flights coming from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey landed in Cairo Airport instead of Borg al-Arab Airport due to poor visibility over the Mediterranean city of Alexandria.
