Australian trade delegation visits Egypt

CAIRO: An Australian commercial delegation, encompassing representatives from over 40 firms, will arrive in Cairo Sunday to boost business and trade relations with Egypt, Al Ahram reported.

The delegation, which visited the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia over the course of the past week, is part of an Australian initiative aims at promoting investment opportunities with Middle East and North African countries, Australian Ambassador to Cairo Neil Hawkins was quoted by Al Ahram Saturday.

During its two-day visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet with Egyptian business and government officials to review investment opportunities in the fields of mining, education and agriculture.

Egypt-Australia trade volume reached $460 million in 2015, according to the Egyptian Trade Ministry’s website.
