CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al Sisi on Sunday will present a report onthe sidelines of the African Summit in Addis Ababa, that presents the conclusions of December’s Climate Change Conference in Paris, Youm7 reported.
During the Paris summit, Sisi acted as the Coordinator of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC.)
The report, which features Egypt’s efforts to help African countries tackle climate change impacts, will be presented during the closed-door session of African leaders to discuss the agenda of the African Summit that kicked off Saturday.
During the session, issues including governance, elections, abiding by constitutional principles in addition ways to finance the African Union, will be discussed.
Sisi arrived in Addis Ababa Friday on a three-day visit to take part in the meetings of the African Summit.
Last week, Egypt secured a three-year membership at the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union. This came after Egypt’s membership at the PSC was restored following Sisi’s landslide victory in presidential election carried out in June 2014.
