Handball team players receive $2.5 k each for winning African cup of nations
Egypt wins Handball African Nations Cup, qualifies for Olympic Games

CAIRO: Egypt’s national handball team players each will be awarded 20,000 EGP ($2,500) each after achieving the title of the African Handball Cup of Nations, Sports Minister Khaled Abdel Aziz was quoted by Youm7 Sunday.

The team won the African Handball Cup of Nations after defeating Tunisia 21-19 in a heated game Saturday.

Saturday’s win has secured the Pharaohs’ qualification for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August as well as the Handball World Cup, scheduled to be held in France Jan 11-29, 2017.

The game was held in Cairo Stadium in presence of Egypt’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Sports Minister Khaled Abdel Aziz and over 17,000 Egyptian supporters.
