Cold snap to continue into Tuesday

CAIRO: Egyptian weather experts expect a cold snap that has hit the country to continue Tuesday, with falling temperatures.

Central Sinai and Upper Egypt’s northern governorates will see cooler weather amounting to frost, reported Youm7 Monday.

Saint Catherine city in South Sinai governorate will see 10 °C during the day and 3 °C at night. Over the past days, the city has seen blizzards with the temperature hitting few degrees below zero.

Heavy morning mists have affected visibility on highways and desert roads during the past week.

At least 16 people were killed and 21 were injured after multi-vehicle collision in Upper Egypt due to the morning mist, according to the Health Ministry.

Cairo is expected to see 19°C during the day and 10°C at night on Tuesday.
