CAIRO: The Egyptian museum recently released for exhibition pieces previously in storage, that have .

Among the pieces is a second-century AD fresca, depicting the story of Oedipus, that were originally part of a civilian home, and a statue from a family burial ground.

Restored painting

The Egyptian Museum will display new, previously exhibited pieces each month, in an effort to spur interest in local tourism, said the museum’s general director Dr. Khaled al-Anani.
