CAIRO: Alexandria and El Dekhila Inlets were closed Saturday morning due to strong winds and high waves, announced Alexandria Port Authority (APA).
The wind speed reached 30 knots per hour while the wave reached 3 meters high, said APA said. Meanwhile, Shipping and unloading processes go normal.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced Friday that temperature in Cairo will gradually decrease and turn very cold during the day and extremely cold at night.
Heavy clouds are expected in the northern areas, particularly in Mediterranean cities which will be caught in moderate rainfalls, EMA added.
EMA head Ahmed Abdel-Aal told Youm7 Saturday that the current cold wave will last until Monday, noting that the temperature on Saturday has decreased five degrees nationwide.
Over the past weeks, the temperature has been hitting low levels and heavy showers have been seen in most governorates. Blizzards in South Sinai’s Saint Catherine town caused asuspension of safaris; Wednesday saw a record low of -5 degrees Celsius.
