Egypt, Russia companies to upgrade radar stations in 5 airports for $300M
Cairo International Airport - YOUM7

CAIRO: The project will be executed over a 30-month period by the National Air Navigation company and Russia’s Lianozovo Electromechanical Plant (LEMZ) and Azimut group of companies, Kamal said in a news conference at Cairo International Airport.

The airports involved in the project are in southern Egypt (Luxor, Aswan) and Borg al-Arab in Alexandria, in the Sinai Peninsula (Arish and Sharm el-Sheikh,) Kamal added.

In December, Egypt hired Control Risks, a global consultancy firm based in London, to review security at some Egyptian airports. The move followed the crash of a Russian plane over Sinai Oct. 31, that killed all 224 on board.
