Ahly to face off against Zamalek in Egyptian Premier League
Zamalek premier league title against Ahly - YOUM7

CAIRO: Ahly will face off against Zamalek in the 17th round of Egyptian Premier league Tuesday at Alexandria’s Borg El Arab Stadium at 7:00 p.m., Youm7 reported.

Ahly’s early season games took place in the Petro Sport stadium, after the other two team choices of Cairo and Air Defense stadiums were ruled out for security reasons, Al Ahram reported.

Head of Zamalek club Mortada Mansour insisted earlier this week that his club will not face Ahly in Alexandria, and asked the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) to move the match to Cairo’s Petrosport stadium, saying Ahly had “no right” to change the three venues they chose to host their games.

Zamalek agreed early on Monday to face rivals Ahly in Tuesday’s Egyptian league at Alexandria’s Borg El Arab Stadium.
Egyptian media reported that Mansour agreed to play in Alexandria after having his request turned down by security officials.

Ahly have already travelled to Alexandria on Saturday, while their opponents are expected to follow suit on Monday.

Ahly sit on top of the league table with 35 points, four ahead of Zamalek after 15 matches.
