Four Saudis arrested over killing of Egyptian expat in Riyadh

CAIRO: Saudi Arabia arrested Monday four citizens accused of killing an Egyptian in Riyadh over an reported quarrel over traffic, an eye-witness told Youm7.

The accused men beat Walid Hamdy al-Sayed el-Hetemy, 34, on his head with heavy scissors and screwdrivers Monday afternoon, the eye-witness said, adding they then ran over on his body with their car.

Hetemy’s dead body was transported to the King Saud Medical Complex in Riyadh, while Saudi security launched investigations into the incident. Hetemy was working as a salesman for a construction company.

Egyptians in Saudi Arabia reached 985,000 persons in 2014, according to statistics by the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower.

In November, an Egyptian was killed and two others, including a Kuwaiti, were injured when a Kuwaiti citizen hit them with a car in Kuwaiti city of Hawally after a quarrel between them in a mall.
