The shortlisted candidates include Abdel Raheem Rady; a 24-year-old student at Al Azhar University’s Faculty of Pharmacy along with other two contestants from Iran and Indonesia who will compete Tuesday evening in Malaysia’s Putra World Trade Centre to win the title.
Founded by Malaysia’s first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman, the International Quran Recital Competition has been held annually since 1961 in Malaysia.
