CAIRO: Ahly beat Zamalek 2-0 Tuesday in the 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League Tuesday at Alexandria’s Borg El Arab Stadium.
Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour told NileSport TV that a foreign manager will be appointed in the near future after sacking the team’s coach Mido.
Mansour confirmed that the Board of Directors of Zamalek club will hold an emergency meeting to decide who’ll be the upcoming coach.
Mansour added that the decision to sack Mido was taken after the Ismaily defeat because Zamalek performed poorly for six games.
Assistant manager Mohamed Salah is the acting coach for Zamalek after Mido’s sacking, and he will prepare the team for upcoming league match against Wadi Degla on Sunday.
Ahly are now in first place with 38 points, followed by Zamalek with 31 in the league.
