CAIRO: Two young men accused of killing their parents after setting fire into their apartment have been ruled mentally ill, Youm7 quoted a forensic medicine report Thursday.
Ashraf, 15, and Ahmed, 20, were sent to Forensic Medicine Authority to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Both brothers burnt their house in Ain Shams district in Cairo causing fatal injuries to the mother and the father, leading to their death. They were ordered detained for four days pending investigations.
It was initially reported that family problems was the motivation behind their crime.
The investigations reported that the two defendants were not acting normally, and that when they were asked why they did so, they answered “we felt like it.”
The prosecution ordered both brothers to be transferred to a mental hospital.
