CAIRO: Egypt’s Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel-Aal flew Sunday to Geneva, the first leg of his first trip since being elected the head of newly House of Representatives, a Cairo International Airport official told Youm7.

His trip to Switzerland and Albania aims to discuss the parliamentarian cooperation; he will participate in 10th plenary session of Parliamentary Assembly of Union for the Mediterranean that is due to be held in Tirana this Thursday.

The session will tackle problems face the region of the Mediterranean Sea, particularly migration issues.

Egypt elected in October and November the House of Representatives. The parliament commenced its opening session Jan. 10, for the first time in more than three years, after the Islamic-dominated parliament was dissolved in 2012.
