CAIRO: A fire erupted Sunday at a factory for spinning and weaving in Delta’s Kafr el-Sheikh governorate was controlled by civil protection forces, incurring losses estimated at 300,000 EGP ($38,000,) stated the head of the city Mohamed Abu Ghaneima to Youm7.

The fire reported broke out in Fooh city during the late hours of Sunday, Ghaneima said.

He added that such fires have happened repeatedly four times last year at textile factories in the city.

Sunday fire lasted for four hour and a half, and firefighters destroyed a wall inside the factory to extinguish the blaze.

Ghaneima stated that the fire burnt all the components of the factory, but did not extend to other factories.

He noted that fire vehicles have stayed at the site after putting out the fire over fears that flames might erupt again.
