CAIRO: A civilian was killed Sunday from injuries after a roadside bomb detonated off on the coast of Arish city, in North Sinai, according to Youm7.
The blast injured 11, including four policemen who were in an armored vehicle that crossed over the bomb, a medical source in North Sinai told Youm7.
The source said at least five injured underwent surgeries; some were passersby, and others were residents of a house adjacent to the road.
Security forces surrounded the explosion site, and a team of bomb experts combed the area in search for potential explosive devices.
Several roadside bombs have detonated in passing armored vehicles amid a series of attacks that resulted in hundreds of deaths among the armed forces and the police in North Sinai. The attacks, mostly claimed by the Sinai-based militant group “Sinai Province,” have resulted in casualties among citizens.
